Venue: 40 Ciervos Road, home of Amanda & Don Lee
In attendance: Approximately 40 - 45 VV and Los Trancos Woods homeowners
Agenda items:
VVCA Goings On:
- Ramona, lower Joaquin and upper Alpine are slipping
- Additional guardrails – this is not a local authority issue, they are put in by the state. Given the current economy, this is not likely to happen
- Speeding – new/additional signs will be going up
- Signs – will be converted to international standards, i.e. Using pictures only, no words
- Speed bumps - are expensive, and need the passage of a $900 incident fee. Decided against.
In general, due to limited funds, the Town of Portola Valley can only do some of what we would like, not all. As you have probably seen, some new signs have already been posted. Therefore, if we want certain other things done, we need to find a way to do them ourselves. Interested parties should contact Claudia.
- 97 out of 110 households (88%) paid community association dues
- Additional monies were spent on the picnic
- Wine costs are now divided between meeting consumption and picnic use
- CERPP donations for 2008 = $560.00
- The water district donated $21,000 to upgrade communications
- Dues: will be maintained at current rate
- The books are balanced for 2008. Expenses = $2,330.00 for picnic/meetings and $1,000 for the new VV directory
Questions/comments from the floor:
- How does emergency preparedness get funding? Contributions are voluntary. Three is a separate line entry on the membership form.
- CERPP donations are tax deductible
- Mike Ward did a lot of work to get the new repeater installed/up and running
- Election of Officers 2008/2009
- The new officers voted in are:
Don Ramsey, President
Danusia Greenleaf, Vice President
Ruth Taylor, Treasurer
Sherri Coats, Secretary

Exploring ways our neighborhoods can work together
Karen Tate, Tom Thayer and Keri Tate got together to start a discussion on how the community associations of VV and the LTW could work together and collaborate. Karen and Tom presented a PowerPoint presentation and ask for feedback.
