Update from the February 2nd, 2006 meeting of the Los Trancos County Water District.

 

* The Board discussed establishing ad hoc groups (both Board and community members) to work on near term District issues. Topic areas discussed included: District's legal history, land disposition, land management, community relations/communication, administration/finance.

Currently individuals and groups are working on the following issues, please contact them if you would like to participate or have questions.

• Charlie Krenz: District legal history
• Perry Blackmon, Frazier Miller, Karen Tate, Mike Ward: develop a workplan for community input regarding land use, initial work to focus on surveys.
• Charlie Krenz, Tim Bailey: develop a flow chart of land disposition options
• Stan Gage: BAWSCA representative, financial management
• David Smernoff: Community communications

* Approval of Ordinance #64 regarding meeting schedule and location (posted to www.lostrancoswoods.org, www.vistaverdeca.org and community bulletin boards)

* Reporting District business: The Board decided to post these updates to the two community association websites and email listservs within about one week following each meeting, and to include the formally approved minutes from the prior meeting. Please direct suggestions for improved communication to David Smernoff.

* Community broom pull: Sat. March 4th, 9:30 to noon. For more information or to RSVP contact Charlie Krenz. The board discussed general plans and participant safety issues.

* Parking issues: The Board voted to restrict parking near the red shed on Lake Road to four, day use only spots.

* The Board anticipates receipt of the draft LAFCo Municipal Service Review in February. A public scoping meeting will be sponsored by LAFCo to permit District residents to provide input on the review. Formal notification of the meeting will be posted as soon as it is available.
